A recent San Diego museum visitor put it best when she said: "People are visiting [museums] in their leisure time and if they feel they have to act like they are in a classroom, i.e. being quiet, having to study up on textbook-type catalogues to understand what the work of art represents, then they will probably choose a more casual activity."
