Case Study: History Colorado Center

A mobile guide for the whole state. 

 History Colorado Center has made a commitment to better highlighting the stories of its Black communities throughout its history. The obvious challenge however, is that this history, heritage, and community has spanned the entirety of the state since the pioneer days. The team at History Colorado needed help to deliver their stories across the numerous heritage and wherever the history, or visitor, may be.

The Solution

History Center Colorado leveraged Guru Experience Co.’s location aware multi-site app to keep all their stories in one convenient app download. With the multi-site app, the various stories of Black history and heritage are organized by their physical location, so users are encouraged to see some of these historic landmarks in person. Additionally on each story stop page, the app will recommend similar content that also might interest a user.

The ability to grow past a simple audio, image, and text based mobile guide was paramount for the team at HCC. As the program gains traction and more experts across each historic and heritage site are able, these teams can easily use the provided Content Management System to add highly personal stories. This means the app can continue to grow with the most authentic voices leading the way.
